HANNAH WARD
Funeral services for Hannah Mary Ward, 90, of 1325 Sage St., were held Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the Bishop Boyd E. Jackson officiating.
Burial was in the Mountain View section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1886, the daughter of David John Davis Sr. and Thurza Williams Davis, who settled in Rock Springs in 1883. The Davises moved temporarily during the Chinese Riot in 1885, to Kansas City, Mo., where Mrs. Ward was born.
They later returned to Rock Springs.
Mrs. Ward was very active in the LDS Church and served as Relief Society President for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three sons, Lloyd, Orville and Richard.
Survivors include two sons, Sylvan Ward and Vernon Ward of Chicago; one sister, Violet Cox of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
