EARNEST BALLARD, 68, WAYNE CITY, DIES Earnest Ballard, 68, of Wayne City, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for 10 days. He was a retired machine operator at Airtex. RITES MONDAY (TODAY) Funeral services were held from the Richardson Chapel Monday afternoon (today) with Rev. John Beck officiating. Internment was in Olive Branch Cemetery south of Wayne City. Ernest, son of Joseph and Matilda MILLER Ballard, was born in the Wayne City area October 6th, 1898. He was married to the former Ruby BORAH, who passed away April 11th, 1965. THE SURVIVORS Surviving are two sons, Russell of Wayne City; and Ernest Jr., of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Holloman, of East St. Louis, MO.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin Ballard, of Tinley Park.
