Eliza Jane Owen was born Jan. 6, 1839, in Laurel County, Ky., and died April 29, 1933 at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 23 days. In 1860 she was married to Stephen H. Jackson, also a native of Laurel county, who preceded her in death thirty years. To this union Four children were born, three of whom survive; Humphrey Tunsil Jackson and Mrs. William M. (Addie) Chesnut, of Oakley, Ky7., and Mrs. Sallie Andes Luker, of Bloomington, Ill.

She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also by five brothers: H.C. and Elly C. Owen of Olathe, Kans.; William M. and George W. Owen of London, and P.F. Owen of Marshall, Ind; and by two sisters, Emily K. McCammon of Delta, Coll., and Sent C. Swanner, of Oakley, Ky.

She was a charter member of the London Christian church and later became a charter member of the Mt. Carme Christian church, of which she was a faithful member until death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Mt. Carmel church by Revs. George and Bowman, followed by burial in the Landrum cemetery. The honorary pallbearers were the officers of the London Christian church and the active pallbearers were her grandsons.
