A son of William J. & Cynthia (McWhorter) Willingham. He was a Grandson of Nicholas and Susan Willingham.

We all owe MUCH TO HIM, Mr. Thomas A. Willingham, SR. much gratitude, for it was He, who headed a Committee in 1975 that poured about 60 new Markers, for old stones that were disappearing into the Earth.

Sanders Cemetery was started Circa 1850, by the First Pioneers of this part of Polk County. Most of the Families here, all had Confederate Soldiers who went off to fight for Our States Rights. There was not a lot of Money after The War here, as in most of Georgia. The farmers did the best they could to survive.
