A native of Union County, he was the widower of Rachel Green Hicks and son of Mae Cody Hicks and the late Willie Lee Hicks. He was the Churc of God faith and a former textile worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Hicks of Union and Jackie Dunston of Greenville; a son, Bobby Hicks of Union; four sisters Pauline Lanier and Iris Gosnell of Union, Lula Mae Yarborough and Mary Alice Hicks; two brothers, Reuben Hicks of Glendale and Frank Hicks of Union; four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be at 1p.m. tomorrow at the funeral chapel with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
