Oelwein - Lena E. Miehe, 92, 21 4th Ave. N.E., died Monday morning, Dec. 30, at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein. The homemaker, a lifetime resident of the Oelwein area, had lived at Grandview Care Center the past three years. She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church and the Eunice Circle.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan 2, at Zion American Lutheran Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Albert Hock officiating. Burial will be in Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Brant-Kems-Jamison Funeral Home in Oelwein, and for one hour before the services at the church, Thursday.

Survivors include two sons, Willard Miehe, Fayette, and Robert Miehe, Waukegan, III; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Otto Schmidt, Lexington, Ky. and a sister, Evelyn, Mrs. Don McSweeney, Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William, who died Nov. 4, 1978; a son, Alfred (Bud) Miehe; and three brothers, Mike, Alfred and Ed.

Mrs. Miehe was born Sept. 23, 1899 in rural Oelwein the daughter of Otto and Ida Medaus Schmidt.
