During 1775 he served 8 months as 'Private' in Captain Samuel Sayer's Company of Colonel James Scammon's Massachusetts Regiment.

In June 1818 the Caledonia County Probate Court ordered that inventory be taken for the estate of William Gowen, of Waterford, who died intestate. Inventory totaled $54.24

Son of Nicholas GOWEN and Kezia COLE.
