Mr. Coplea was born Nov. 8, 1897 the son of John and Lelia (Orr) Coplea in Wayne County. He was first married to Lela Agnes Bourne in 1915, she preceded him in death November 24, 1961. He was later united in marriage with Blossom Teitsort, Feb. 20, 1969 in Olney.
In his youth he attended the Forest Ridge Church, southeast of Wynoose, and later attended the Congregational Christian Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, John of Fairfield, and Roy of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Nola) Zimmerle and Mrs. Stanley Geneva) Novak, both of Olney; one step-son, John Teitsort of Memphis, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Alicia) Campen of Bedford, Ind., and Mrs. Eugene (Kathryn) Pannkuk of Shannon, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Marion (Dorothea) Thatcher of rural Olney; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Coplea will be held Wednesday in the chapel of the Zirkle Mortuary with the Rev. C. T. Cramer officiating. Interment will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park.
