Stanley Harold "Bud" Gonzagowski, age 85 of Baraboo, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at St. Clare Meadows Care Center.
Stan, the son of the late Frank and Lottie (James) Gonzagowski, was born on July 17, 1924 in Adams. On June 21, 1950, he was united in marriage to Arlene Cook at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2003. Stan was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Camillus Parish, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo, the Knights of Columbus, the Tri-State Breeders and Sauk County Guernsey Breeders Associations. He enjoyed fishing, Brewers baseball, woodworking, Allis Chalmers tractors and his Guernsey cows.
He is survived by three sons, David (Linda) Gonzagowski of Montello, Steve (Mary) Gonzagowski of Portage, and Jim (Lynne) Gonzagowski of Baraboo; three grandchildren, Dawn of Racine, Patrick and Ryan, both of Portage; five brothers, Francis (Flo) of Wisconsin Dells, Leonard of Albuquerque, N.M., John (Cathy) of Raytown, Mo., Roger (Marilyn) of Mountain Home, Ark., and Robert (Carole) of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Dorothy Becker of Monroe, and Virginia Marousek of Warsaw, Mo.; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, and his wife, Arlene, Stan was preceded in death by a sister, Cathie Hite of Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo with Father Larry Bakke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the Redlin Funeral Home, 401 Madison Ave. in Baraboo; and at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials in Stan's name may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
