Daughter of John Frederick and Sadie Eunice (Dowler) Starling, married Robert Lee Herald, Jr., November 07, 1934; (divorced). Interred with former husband, shares gravestone. Ruth was always known by her middle name.

Ruth was an excellent church pianist and played for revival meetings. She was also a checker at various Pomona markets.

Ruth Herald

Ruth Herald of Pomona died at Pomona Valley Community Hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Thursday.

She was born in Madera July 11, 1916, and came to Pomona in 1923. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pomona and the Silver Stars Senior Citizens group at the church.

She had worked as a cashier at several markets in the area, the last being Wolfe's Market in Claremont.

She leaves a daughter, Dianne L. Brownell of La Verne; two brothers, Emil Starling of Pomona and Frederick Starling of Lancaster; a sister, Alleyne Luckensmeyer of Pomona; and two granchildren.

A service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona.

Burial will be made at Pomona Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Pomona chapel Monday from 5 to 9 p.m.
