Born in Manhattan, he was brought to Fort Wadsworth when he was ten. He later settled in Travis.
Mr. Carr attended Monsignor Farrell High School, Oakwood, and New Dorp High School.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail handler for thirty-seven years, until retiring in 2006.
Riding his Harley-Davidson motorcyle was Mr. Carr's favorite pastime, but he also enjoyed fishing and going out on his boat from the Great Kills Marina.
Surviving are his brother, Raymond, and his sisters, Maureen Carr-Gottschalk and Patricia Carr.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners.
Burial services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
