She was a registered nurse, an employee of Singing River Hospital, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of St. John's Episcopal church where she sang in the choir.
She played piano and collected china teacups.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland T. Cooley; and a son, Arthur Cooley. She was survived by two sons, John and Robert Cooley, both of Pascagoula.
