"Eve was born in Hebron on May 14, 1922, to Balzar and Othelia (Denius) Schatz, the oldest of eight children. She was raised in Bismarck, attending St. Mary's grade and high school. She married Carl Weatherly in Harvey on June 22, 1942. They farmed the Weatherly homestead in Silver Lake Township, eight miles south of Hurdsfield.

Carl and Eve raised their four children on the farm, where Eve was a dedicated homemaker, sewing, canning, crafting, cooking, baking bread and milking cows. She was a 4-H leader for many years, where she shared her love of cooking and sewing with the girls. Eve was an avid quilter; she always made a special quilt for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

After Carl passed away in 1979, Eve moved into Hurdsfield until 2004. She continued to raise a garden and many flowers. She was an active member of the St. Patrick Parish and was a dedicated caretaker of that parish. For the last seven years, Eve was a resident at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Eve was a music lover and was often found whistling a happy tune.

Eve is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Edward (Sharon) Dalbol, Floriston, Calif., and Carleen (Cliff) Campbell, Hazen; one son and daughter-in law, Jim (Suzan) Weatherly, Missoula, Mont.; four sisters, Ann (Verle) Smith, Abilene, Texas, Pauline Boykin, Vacaville, Calif., Alice (Rodney) Beers, Seattle, and Rosemary (Don) Heald, Puyallup, Wash.; two brothers, Anton, Tacoma, Wash., and Leo, Hurdsfield; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Eve was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; a daughter, Annette; a sister, Jean Laviola; and a son-in-law, Harold Dalbol.
