He was Honorably Discharged on January 27, 1946 as a First Sergeant and reenlisted on January 28, 1946 in the Regular Army. In 1947 he was with the 250th General Hospital in Germany where he purchased a new 1947 Volkswagen and toured Europe. He was Honorably Discharged as a Second Lieutenant on April 5, 1950.
He was awarded Bronze Service Stars for Campaign "Ardennes", Campaign 'Rhineland", and Campaign "Central Europe". Also awarded was the Good Conduct Medal, Eame Medal, Combat Medical Badge, World War II Victory Medal, American Combat Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Occupation Medal, Marksman Shooting Badge (Carbine-Rifle), and the Bronze Star Medal.
Norbert married Jane Marie Mahler on November 25, 1950 in St. Margaret Mary's Church. They had five children. They resided at 27 Catalpa Road in Rochester, New York.
He was employed by Eastman Kodak Company, Building 29 for 30 years retiring on February 28, 1983.
