LUCINDA ABBEY, daughter of David and Nancy (Farnham) Abbey, born in Ulster County, N. Y., August 1, 1808; died May 31, 1887. Resided in Rondout, N. Y., and Watkins.
Married June 4, 1829, DR. HERVEY SMITH, born 1797; died May 17, 1843.

1 - Mary White Smith, b. June 9. 1833; m. Cornelius Van Keuren.
2 - Amanda L. Smith, d. March 22, 1856; not m.
3 - Homer Hervey Smiih, b. Oct. 29, 1838; lived in Virginia City, Colo.; not m.
4 - David Rodney Smith, b. Sept. 10, 1841. He served in the Civil War as 2d Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, and finally as Captain, from 1863 to 1866, in 5th U. S. Volunteer Infantry. He lived in South Carolina, at Smith's Mills, Williamsburgh County. Married Nov. 22, 1869, Elizabeth P. Moore, b. May 30, 1844. Children : i. David K., b. Feb. 2, 1872, d. May 20, 1872 ; ii. Edward G., b. Nov. 26, 1875.
