4 - David Rodney Smith, b. Sept. 10, 1841. He served in the Civil War as 2d Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, and finally as Captain, from 1863 to 1866, in 5th U. S. Volunteer Infantry. He lived in South Carolina, at Smith's Mills, Williamsburgh County. Married Nov. 22, 1869, Elizabeth P. Moore, b. May 30, 1844. Children : i. David K., b. Feb. 2, 1872, d. May 20, 1872 ; ii. Edward G., b. Nov. 26, 1875.
