DIES AT AGE 77
IN COLUMBUS
Ross Homer Stanton Sr., 77, 1415 Eberhart Ave., died Friday at Oak Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mr. Stanton was born Oct. 4, 1894, in Newbern (sic), Ga., son of the late Charles Luther and Celestia Patrick Stanton.
A retired railroad conductor who had been employed by the Central of Georgia for 40 years, he was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Baisden Stanton, Columbus; three sons, T. Edwin Stanton, Columbus, Ross H. Stanton Jr., St. Petersburg, Fla., and Fred Stanton, Miami, Fla.; a brother, Rudolph Stanton, Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Irene Wilson, Luella, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His parents are buried at the Patrick Family Cemetery.
