He was born May 8, 1947 in Cleveland, OH and moved to Florida 39 years ago. David has lived in Arcadia for the past 23 years. He was of the protestant faith.
David enjoyed the outdoors; some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, boating, golfing and camping with family and friends. He also loved taking long rides on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle.
David gave service to our great country in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War.
David is survived by three daughters, Stephanie L. Hottois, Melissa S. (Kris) Lane and Verita N. Hottois, all of Arcadia, FL.; mother, Doris Mae Hickox Hottois, of Port Charlotte, FL, two brothers, Richard (Carol) Hottois, of Port Charlotte, FL and Charles (Kathy) Hottois, of Hinckley, OH; one sister, Lynda Cleveland, of Brunswick, OH; six grandchildren, Nathaniel Hottois, Tiffany Lane, Nicole Emory, Michael Lane, Sean Lane and Miranda Briest; numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave, Arcadia. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00PM at the chapel with Rev. Richard Englert officiating from the First Baptist Church of Arcadia.
Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations for assistance of expenses. Donations envelopes are at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home.
