Betty Sue Griffey Martin, 78, Paragon, IN, passed from this life at 4:58 pm on Thursday, September 22nd, 2011 at her residence.

She was born August 25th, 1933 in La Follette, TN to the late Gilbert and Susie (Simpson) Richards.

Mrs. Martin retired in 1990 from the Indiana Medical Center after 20 years; where she was a research technician. She also worked for Mary Kay Cosmetics and Touch of Home gift shop in Nashville, IN.

She was a volunteer for the Christian Ministry and she was a special visitor at Riley Hospital for Children. She enjoyed gardening, reading, collecting magnets and riding horses. She especially had a love for her family and her dogs.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Martinsville.

On June 10th, 1976 she married Lee H. Martin; he preceded her in death on June 21st, 1989. She will sadly missed by her surviving family of three sons, Michael Griffey of Ellettsville, IN, Glen Griffey and wife Debbie of Oklahoma, Anthony Griffey and wife Debbie of Martinsville, two daughters, Nancy Bunch and husband Bob of Martinsville, Sheila Griffey of Paragon, IN. and her grandchildren, Lindsey, Tyler, Trevor and Travis Griffey, Robert and Rocky Lambert, Brandy Stepan, Elizabeth Pratt and Jennifer Hornaday and eleven great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Ben and Jack Richards, three sisters, Pauline Wages, June Davis and Christine Shelton, one grandson, Anthony Allen Griffey, Jr. and one great grandchild.

Friends are invited to visit on Monday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. A celebration of life service to be officiated by Rev. Chris Page will begin at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Mannan Cemetery in Lewisville, IN.

A memorial service will also be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Martinsville.
