Joseph Falteisek, 76 year-old Trimbelle Township man, died Monday in Piety Convalescent Home. He had suffered injuries five weeks ago when he was struck on the head by a tree limb.
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) morning in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big River with the Rev. Father Roman Kirin to officiate. Burial will be made in the Trimbelle Cemetery. Recitation of the rosary was held Wednesday evening in the Winberg Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 10, 1892 in Czechoslovakia, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatius Falteisek. He came to the United States when he was 10 years old and settled in Pierce Co. His marriage to Mildren Unzeityg was an event of 1920. She died in 1930 and in 1931 he married Marie Kakac. He farmed in Trimbelle Township during his adult life.
Surviving are his wife and eight children, Emil of Stillwater, MN; Rudolph of Everett, WA; Mrs. Emil (Mildred) Urbanski of St. Paul; Joseph Jr., and Raymond of Ellsworth; Mrs. Geo. (Josephine) Drevnick; Mrs. Arthur (Mary Ann) Evans of Skokie, IL and Frank of Prescott; four stepchildren, Ed and Kenneth Kakac of Prescott, Mrs. Gladys Malone of Superior and Walter Kakac of Ellsworth; 33 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Michael (Marie) Fuerst of Pequot Lakes, MN.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and a sister.
