Molly was the daughter of Dr. Addison Davis James (1849-1910) and Henrietta Penrod James, (1850-1881) from Penrod, Muhlenberg Co, KY.

Molly married Eugene M Bewley, "the boy next door," on 23 December 1891 in Penrod, Kentucky. They lived in Kentucky in their early married life, then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma by the 1930 census.

They had six children, James Penrod, (1893-1972), Mary Etta, (1894-1985 m. Leroy Nance), John Kennerly "Jack", (1896-1975 m. Leone S Wallace) Hallie B, (1898-1990), Nellie L, (1900-1993 m. Nicholas Boulogne) William L, 1905-1969)
