Mary Bertha Sheridan passed away peacefully on September 12, 2005 surrounded by her family. She was born December 20, 1917 in La Cueva, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Elmer C. Sheridan; sons, Ray (Lisa) Vargas of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Dale Sheridan of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Christine (Gary) Randall of Lufkin, Texas and Linda Sheridan of Tucson, Arizona; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
We will miss her devotion to family, her caring and gentle way, her sense of humor, and her spirited support of the University of Arizona Men's Basketball Team. Rest in peace, Bertha.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, with a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow with Pastor Helmer Heghesan presiding.

NOTE: 1940 census records show Bertha living with husband, Martin Vargas, and their son in Taos, New Mexico.
Per California marriage records, she married George A Garrett on October 25 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. Her occupation is listed as "arch welder" and states this was her second marriage.
Mother of Christine Marie Anderson born April 1950 in Portland, Oregon, with Dennis Henry Anderson (#148695534). They were never married.
