Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trecek will be honored with a family dinner and open house for their 55th wedding anniversary from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 24 at the Senor Citizens Hall in Cuba. Hosting the event will be their children: Mr. and Mrs John (Neva) Caldwell, Seneca; Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Roberta) Klima, Scandia; Mr. and Mrs Lonnie Trecek, Topeka.
Frank Trecek and Blazena Kouba were married August 11, 1925. They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Blazena Mildred Kouba Trecek, daughter of Pavel and Marie Wranosky Kouba, was born on June 26, 1908 at Narka, Kansas and passed away on December 13, 1983 at Cuba, Kansas, at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 17 days.
Blazena received her education at the Island Rural School and Narka High School. She was united in marriage on August 11, 1925 and to this union three children were born, Neva, Roberta and Lonnie.
Blazena and her husband Frank moved to a farm three and one half miles west of Cuba after their marriage on August 11, 1925. They moved to Cuba in 1972. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Bee-Bee Club and the Coffee Club.
She had many hobbies, she liked to go fishing and loved to travel which she and her husband did a lot of both when she was able.
She loved to make things for her children and grandchildren. One of her latest joys was looking forward to going to her Coffee Club at the cafe to which her husband took her whenever the weather was fit. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her loving smile.
She was receded in death by her parents, Pavel and Marie Kouba, one brother Ernest Kouba, three sisters, Mamie Huncovsky, Emma Vocasek and Elsie Chudly.
She is survived by her husband Frank of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Neva Cardwell and husband John of Seneca, Kansas; Mrs. Roberta Klima and husband Charles of Scandia, Kansas; one son, Lonnie Trecek and his wife Brenda of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church of Cuba, Kansas on Friday, December 16, 1983, at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Reverend Tom Ballard. Interment was made in National (Kopsa) Bohemian Cemetery. Organist was Mrs. Eugene Hadachek, soloist, Mrs. Franklin Cherney.
Casket bearers were Bradley Klima, Rick Cardwell, Terry Cardwell, Benny Holloway, William Holloway and Robert Chudley
