BEALS - Ernest L. Libby, Sr. 89, passed on Sept 30, 2000. He was born in Winter Harbor, Oct. 27, 1910, the son of Frank L. and Priscilla (Alley) Libby. He was educated in the Beals schools and was a lobster fisherman, retiring at the age of 81.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alfreda (Beal) Libby; three sons, Franklin and his wife Eleanor; Ernest Jr. and his wife Myrtle; Clinton and his wife, Leona; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, stepfather, Eben W. Alley; daughter, Senith; granddaughter, Peggy; one brother, Maurice; three sisters, Senith, Evelyn and Violet; and by three stepsisters, Ada, Eulala and Elnora.
A funeral service at the Beals Advent Christian Church with Pastor Philip Barton and the Rev. George Woodward officiating.
Interment was in Great Wass Island Cemetery.
