"Memento Mori - Fugit Hora"
son of Deacon Edward and Sarah Converse. He married Esther Champney 26 March 1651.

[Josiah was born about the 30th of October, 1618 in Sheffield, Essex, England, the first of four children born to Edward "The Knight and Deacon" Converse and his wife Sarah Smith Parker.
In 1630 The Edward Converse family came to Massachusetts Bay Colony as part of the Great Puritan Migration, likely first settling in the town of Newbury, as that's where Edward died in 1663.
Josiah removed to Woburn in 1641 and there he would marry Esther Champney on March 26, 1651. Esther was born on the 31st of October, 1630 in Stisted Essex England, the daughter of Richard and Jane Champney, and descendent of Sir Henry Champney, one of the thirty brave warriors who fought at the battle of Hastings, October 14, 1066, under William the Conqueror.
In the will of his father Edward, written in August 1663 and proved Oct. 7, 1663, Josiah and his brother Samuel were named executors. Josiah was bequeathed the home that 'he now live in', land in the great field and meadow, and with Samuel, the field, mill and millhouse.
Josiah became Deacon of the Woburn Church in 1674, and he died there on February 3rd 1689/90, aged 72 years. That same year, his wife Esther married Jonathan Danforth in Billerica Massachusetts, she died there April 5th, 1713 aged 83.
