John Edwin Anderson, 83, beloved husband of Betty Ellingson Anderson (formerly of Center), died surrounded by loved ones in Carlsbad, CA, on Dec 8, 2009. Interment will be at the Winnetoon Cemetery.

Born in Omaha on April 22, 1926, John was a veteran of WWII and served with the Navy, primarily in the Pacific Theater.

He married Betty Ellingson in 1949 and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1950.

Anderson worked for Union Pacific for 10 years before accepting a job with Boeing and moving his young family west to Seattle in 1955. After his retirement from Boeing in 1984, the moved south to Carlsbad.

Survivors include his wife, his children, Barbara Anderson Bowers of Hamilton, VA, John Anderson of San Clemente, CA and Suzanne Anderson of Guerneville, CA and grandchildren, Matt and Andrew Bowers of Hamilton, VA and Nicole Anderson of San Clemente, CA.

John Edwin ANDERSON, a retired Aerospace Division engineer for Boeing, died on December 8, 2009 in Carlsbad, CA. He was 83. Born in Omaha, NE on April 22, 1926,

John was a Navy veteran of WW II.He married Betty Ellingson on December 18, 1949 and graduated from the University of Nebraska in the spring of 1950.

John moved his young family west to Seattle from Omaha in 1955 to begin work for Boeing. During his 30-year career, John worked on the Lunar Rover, the Venus Mercury and the Jet Foil projects.

Following his retirement in 1985, John and Betty moved to Carlsbad, CA. He will be remembered for his sharp mind, sense of humor and work ethic.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Anderson of Carlsbad, children Barbara Anderson Bowers, Hamilton, VA, John Anderson of San Clemente CA, and Suzanne Anderson of Guerneville, CA and grandchildren, Matt and Andrew Bowers, Hamilton, VA and Nicole Anderson, San Clemente, CA.
