Lelia W. Loomis was born on May 5, 1920 in Alpena County to the late Charles Loomis and Minnie (Allen) Loomis and married Angus Atkinson on August 19, 1939. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1999.
Surviving were 9 children, Margaret (Jack) Smalley of Posen, Wesley Jim Atkinson of Posen, Carolyn (Rochford) Neville of Posen, Keith (Debbie) Atkinson of Hillman, Charles (Cindy) Atkinson of Lachine, Shirley (Donald) Kowalski of Posen, Dale (Linda) Atkinson of Minnesota; Sharron (John) Tinker of Posen, Harvey (Debbie) Atkinson of Rogers City; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren; 1 sister, Fern Bryan of Florida; 3 nieces, Linda Domke, Mary Kay Precord and Susan Skibbe.
