Allan was survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy; daughter Carmen Abbott of Jacksonville, Florida; son Manley Abbott of Livermore, Maine; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and brother Wayne Abbott of Apex, North Carolina.
Allan enlisted in the US Army on 21 Oct 1942 in Portland Maine. He retired from the Army after 21 years of service and also collected coins and antique Packards. He had a great sense of humor and was a good natured man who loved to cook. Allan also enjoyed gardening and fixing things.
A Memorial Service was held August 3, 2011 at French-Lomas Chapel. Interment followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
