Belvidere Brooks is the son of Belvidere and Alpha Brooks. Captain Belvidere Brooks was killed in the line of duty to his country on the Vesle Front in August 1918.
Enlisted in Squadron A Cavalry, in New York City. Commissioned , 2nd Lieutenant, Infantry, May 15, 1917, from Plattsburg Officers Training Corp. Assigned to the 77th Division,, he assumed command of Company D, 308th Infantry,77th Division, in January 1918. Arrived in France April 6, 1918. Killed in action by enemy artillery, on the night of August 21, 1918.
