ALMUR S. WHITING
FAIRHOPE -- Almur Stiles Whiting Jr., a native of Mobile and a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at his residence. He was 74. Survivors include his wife, Clyde Bell Whiting of Fairhope; four sons, Almur S. Whiting III of Foley, Van Dorne Sherer Whiting of Jordan, Minn., David Robert Whiting of San Diego and Timothy Welcome Whiting Sr., of Ypsilanti, Mich.; four daughters, Gay Antoinett Whiting of Foley, Anne Whiting Wank of Fairhope, Kayron Whiting Jones of Gulf Shores and Rebecca Whiting Peterson of Edmond, Okla.; 28 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Wolfe Funeral Home of Fairhope. Visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. prior to services. Memorial contributions should be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or Fish River Baptist Church Family Life Center.
