Turpin Wright Rose, son of Truman and Mary (Tull) Rose, was born in Seaford, Delaware, Nov. 16, 1825. (see Henry L Rose,
David C Rose) He married in Wilmington, Delaware, Jan. 29, 1849, Mary Morgan, daughter of Daniel and Harriett (Anderson) Morgan, of Kent County Delaware. The Rev. Mr. Kennard officiating.

Mr. Rose was a carpenter and builder, which occupation seemed to be handed down in the Rose family. This was an important profession in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as the builders were their own architects. Turpin Rose settled in Odessa after his marriage, where he carried on his business successfully for many years. He and his brother built many of the finest buildings in the town and surrounding country. He took an active part in town affairs, was Town Commissioner, an office elected for two years, 1874-75; 1876-77; 1880-81; 1885-86; 1887-88. (Sharfs History p. 1006) He was a director of the Odessa Loan Association, incorporated Feb. 19, 1885. He was a member of St Pauls M E Chuch, Odessa. Mr. Rose was a member of the fifth Delaware Infantry, Company K. He was on guard duty at Fort Delaware and was at Harpers Ferry. He died Nov. 16,1898 and is buried at St. Pauls ME Churchyard, Odessa.
