Husband of Carol Anne (Knight) Yost and son of John Vernon Yost and Emma Laura (Wesley) Yost.

John Wesley Yost, age 68, of Duluth died on March 27, 2004 after a courageous battle with melanoma. He is preceded in death by his parents Emma Laura Wesley and John Vernon Yost, and brother Paul Broadwater Yost.

He graduated from Northside High School and attended Georgia Tech and the University of Georiga where he was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. He was a well-known builder and land developer in the Atlanta area for 45 years. For relaxation, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid golfer who hosted the "Yost Invitational" golf tournament for a close group of friends for 28 years on Hilton Head Island, SC. He was a member of Atlanta Athletic Club and the Highlands Country Club in Highlands, NC. For the past 15 years, he has attended the Daybreak Bible Study at the Atlanta Athelic Club, and when in Highlands, he enjoyed the Men's Bible Study at the Highlands Country Club. He was a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed sharing his faith and love for Christ with others. He was a loyal supporter of the Billy Graham Crusade, Focus on the Family, and the Atlanta Union Mission.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anne Knight Yost; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mark Davis of Hilton Head Island, SC; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Jill Yost of Duluth, GA; six grandchildren: Drew and Kerry Davis; Erin, Jenna, Kristen and Lauren Yost; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Stewart Hurlburt; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Bob Gouldman; sister-in-law Frances Yost; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Joanna Knight; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 29 from 6 until 8 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill. Memorial services will be held at Johns Creek Baptist Church, 7500 McGinnis Ferry Road, Alpharetta, GA 30005 on Tuesday, March 30, at 11:00 AM officiated by Dr. William Self and Dr. Sam Coker. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery.
