THE FUNERAL OF MRS. TALIAFERRO.
The funeral of Mrs. R. H. Taliaferro occurred at Trinity church, yesterday afternoon and was attended by many friends of the family. The floral offerings were numerous, and among those who testified their affection for the wife and mother gone were Mrs. Judge Otis, who sent a lovely floral anchor, and Mrs. R. A. Park whose testimonial was a basket of lovely flowers.
There was also an exquisite cross of Cape jessamine from Mrs. Alderson; a beautiful collection of cut flowers Mrs. R. B. Drury; basket of roses, Mrs. A. B. Symns; a lyre from Miss Nellie Brown; choice collection of cut flowers from Mrs. W. W. Cochrane, a beautiful wreath and cross from Mrs. C. F. Cochrane; a very handsome collection of cut flowers, Miss Mary Raynor; a beautiful collection of cut flowers, Mrs. Kate Cromwell; an exquisite corss of white flowers from Mrs. R. M. Manley.
The remarks of Rev. Mr. Leonard were deeply affecting; and the sadness of the occasion was intensified by the presence of mourners of four generations, from the silver haired father of the deceased, to the grand children. Of her nine children, seven were present.
The interment took place at Oak Hill, the resting place of so many of our older Atchison families.
