RUBY SKINNER

BRECKENRIDGE -- Ruby Skinner, 79, of Breckenridge, died at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday at Hendrick Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Melton Chapel of Memories.
The Rev. Harry Grantz, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Breckenridge Cemetery.
Born Ruby Ann Kirkland Sept 16, 1900 in Batesville, Ark. she married Frank Skinner, June 7, 1914 in Arkansas. They moved to Breckenridge from Baird in 1930. They owned and operated the City Cafe in Breckenridge for many years. She was a Baptist.
Her husband died March 1, 1961.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bob Clark of Lake Jackson; two sons, Bob of Abilene and Jake of Breckenridge; a sister, Gladys Hathaway of Baytown; two brothers, Bill Kirkland of Woodsboro and Mason Kirkland of Foreman, Ark.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a niece, Jewel May.

Ruby married Alvin Martin Adair on Aug 30, 1962 and they were divorced on May 21, 1970 in Harrison, TX. Ruby kept the Adair name until her death. The family had her buried next her first husband and used the Skinner name.
