James Jefferson came to the Pickett co area in 1877. He was a farmer and logger. He was killed in a logging accident. His Bilbrey family was among some of the first families in Overton County. He and wife Winnie Fite moved to the Fentress Co area near Buck Mountain to be near Winnie's family. They sold part of that land to their daughter Mary Buck and then moved to the farm near Static on Lick Creek road where the Bilbrey Cemetery is now located. By Debbie Bilbrey
