78, of Nicholasville, widower of Elsie W. Adams, passed away Thu, Sep 29, 2011 at his residence. Born in Richmond and formerly of Lancaster, Lexington, and Wilson, NC, he was the son of the late Bernie and Lillie Gabbard Adams. Billy attended Eastern Kentucky University until joining the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was retired plant manager for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. in Lexington and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Garrard County. Billy enjoyed playing golf, antiques and refinishing furniture. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, the "Brown & Williamson family", and many very special caregivers. Survivors include: a son, Randy (Shari) Adams; a sister, Norma Adams; four grandchildren, Shawn, Jamie (Amy), Marci, and Brandon Adams; and a sister-in-law, Judy Adams. He was preceded in death by: a son, Mike Adams; and a brother, Kenny Adams. Funeral services will be 2:30pm Sat at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Visitation will be 1pm. until the hour of service Sat at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice.
