Uncle Ike Turner was a foreman at Gulf Oil Co. in Port Arthur, Texas. He died at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston from bronchiogenic carcinoma of the left lung, hence, the raspy voice that I remember as a child. At his death, he left behind his widow, Lora Turner, and one son, I.T. Turner,III.
