Services for Ruth G. Rainey Chandler, 88, of Piedmont were Friday, June at 2:00 p.m. at Folsom-Mickelsen Funeral Home in Piedmont with Revs. J.H. Monroe, James Rainey and Tommy McCoy officiating. Burial was in Piedmont Memory Gardens with Folsom-Mickelsen Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Chandler died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Jacksonville Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Vernell Yancey and Paulette Haney, both of Piedmont; five sons, Barlow Parker, Norman Parker, Charles Chandler Jr., and Michael Chandler, all of Piedmont, and Larry Parker of Rainsville; a stepson, J. L. "Buddy" Chandler of Piedmont; a sister, Myra Willis of Piedmont; two brothers, Willis "Pete" Rainey and Ray Rainey, both of Piedmont; 22 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bo Parker, Brandon Parker, Craig Parker, Cooter Hightower, Gerald Willis, Sam Bragg, Jerry Rainey and Anthony Bates.
Mrs. Chandler, a Piedmont native and lifelong resident, was a member of Piedmont Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Chandler Sr.; and her parents, Dailey and Mattie Hardin Rainey.
