Lucretia Cammack Campbell, 85, of Beaumont, Texas, died Friday, September 30, 2011, at The Hampton at Willowbrook in Houston, Texas.
A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on January 23, 1926, to Frankie Jane Powers Cammack and Lockwood Prentice Cammack. Lucretia was a 1942 Beaumont High School graduate and later received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Lamar University; she taught at Fehl Elementary, Amelia Elementary and Cathedral in the Pines School.
Lucretia is survived by her son, Warren Campbell and his wife, Pat Esslinger of Houston; son, Ted A. Campbell and his wife, Dale of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Marion Campbell of Montgomery; and son, Glen Campbell and his wife, Anita of San Antonio; ten grandchildren, Cheryl Grosso, Allan Campbell, Jason Plumley, Allison Barrett, Wesley Campbell, Alexandra Campbell, Kelly Esslinger, Elizabeth Campbell, Lydia Campbell and Elam Campbell; five great grandchildren, Madelyn Campbell, David Grosso, Jackson Barrett, Bradley Lyons, and Lucas Plumley; sister, Wylma Lois Collins; and brother, Eugene Cammack, both of Beaumont.
She is predeceased by husband, Gene Allen Campbell; son, Mark Campbell; brother, Lockwood P. Cammack, Jr.; and sisters, Audrey Faye Tindall, Mary Doris Hall, and Delphine Breen.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Broussard's.
