Willis was my uncle and my mother's brother. He was born in Napoleon, Missouri, the son of Ira E. Brooks and Bessie Bird Brooks. On June 5, 1960 he married Genevieve Lucille Morrow Tyler. She preceded him in death. On July 17, 1986 he married Pauline Gaddy. He lived in Saline County Missouri most of his life working as a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, serving in England and France.
He had four sisters and three brothers. He had one daughter, Debra Ann Brooks, born on Feb. 11, 1962 and died on Feb. 12, 1962. He had one stepdaughter and three stepsons.
A few years after returning from WW II he was injured while combining a field. He lost part of one arm and both hands. This never stopped him from farminhhg or doing many of the things he wanted to do.
