MRS. WAMPLER DEAD
Mrs. Rebecca Wampler who has lived in this county all her life and is well known in the Smithville neighborhood, her old home, died Sunday morning at the home of her grandson, Ed. Hardy, on west 4th street. Pneumonia fever and the complications of old age caused her demise. She was past 86 years of age.
Mrs. Wampler was the widow of a Civil War veteran who died in '65 shortly after his return from the front. She was a life long member of the Christian Church at Smithville. Three children, besides a number of grandchildren, survive her. The children are Mrs. Sarah Groh of this city, Mrs. Hannah Clark and Michael Wampler of Smithville. She has been very ill for the past two weeks.
The funeral is Monday at 2 p. m. at the Hardy home with burial at Rose Hill.
