US Congressman. Born in Ripley, New York, he attended the Pennsylvania Military College, then pursued in the business of agricultural and oil production. He served in the New York State Senate (1908-12) and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention at Chicago in 1912. In 1913, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-third Congress and to the next two succeeding Congresses, serving until 1919. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he again engaged in the business of agricultural and oil production. He died at age 67 in Miami Beach, Florida.
