`"Kitty" was the daughter of Willard Rayl and Emma Clark. She had one brother, Fred and a sister, Laura, they all grew up on a farm in Kingman, Kansas.

Kitty spent over sixty years in the Los Angels area making a living as an artist. Her most famous accomplishments was the creation of the "The Picture" with her friend Leila Sherman. "The Picture" is a photo of Jesus, taken from the large painting, "The Crucifixion" by Jan Styka, which is now permanently on view in the Hall of The Crucifixion at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Glendale, California. For years, Kitty and Leila talked with the staff at Forest Lawn to gain permission to take several photos of the masterpiece. Finally, permission was granted and now, thousands of people around the world have enjoyed this photo.

She was married to Mr. Whitman, they did not have any children. Kitty lived on to the age of 99 years, and upon her death, she was cremated and her ashes were scattered 3 miles off the coastline of Newport Beach, California.
