He was a Revolutionary Soldier, enlisting as a private, Jan. 29, 1776, in Capt. Sam'l Cowell's Co. of Col. Lemuel Robinson's Reg't. Apparently, Joseph and Ithamar Fairbank named two sons James:
One is recorded as [FAIRBANK], "James, s. of Joseph and Ithermer, Aug. 16, 1753", page 70 of the Wrentham Vital Records.
The second one is [FAIRBANKS], "James, s. of Lieut. Joseph and Ithermer, Mar. 7, 1756", page 71 of the Wrentham Vital Records.
Both deaths were recorded on page 436 of the Wrentham Vital Records:
[FAIRBANK], "James, s. of Joseph and Ithemar, Jan. 6, 1754."
and
[FAIRBANK], "James, Dec. 16, 1836, in his 83rd y. G.R. 2."
There is no indication where this first son was buried; since both his parents and his brother James are buried in the Gerould Cem., it's possible that he is as well.
