Services for Bascom Brasfield of the Pearce Chapel community, who was a carpenter and painter, were held May 8, 1965 in Pearce Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery with Nabors Funeral Home in charge. He was 46. Mr. Brasfield, who had heart trouble, died at his home on the night of May 6, 1965.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Jettie Brasfield; a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Sanderson of Smithville; two sons, Tony and Jerry of the home; two brothers, Larry Brasfield of Columbus and Travis Brasfield of Smithville; and a sister,Mrs. Grace Guest of Pearce Chapel.
