WENTZ-YAHNERT - Mary M., 60, Beulah Road, Nanty Glo, formerly of Ebensburg, died May 29, 2000, at home. Born May 24, 1940, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Irvin S. and Alva E. (Steffey) Kelly. Preceded in death by 1st husband, Joseph E. Wentz, and sister, Charlotte Edwards.

Survived by husband, Donald W. Yahnert, to whom she was married almost 13 years, and these children: David Earl Wentz and Susan, wife of Jack Horner, both of Ebensburg; Mary Jo, wife of Tim Lowmaster, Carrolltown; Duane Wentz, married to former Rhonda Schmidt, Revloc; and William H. Wentz, Ebensburg; stepchildren, Donald Yahnert Jr., married to former Leona Villini, Nanty Glo; Daniel Yahnert, married to former Christine Thomas, Mineral Point; Robert Yahnert, married to former Crystal Kostyk, and Cynthia (Yahnert) Wagner, both of Nanty Glo; and Sandra, wife of William Evans, Ebensburg; also 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sister of Eva Cook, Nanty Glo, and Dora Volk, Tarentum.

Member of Ebensburg First Christian Church (Disciples), where she sung in the choir and served as church secretary and historian. Had also served as district secretary for the Christian Church. Had been employed for 14 years at former JoAnn Dress Factory, Ebensburg. Mary loved to bake, and her nut rolls were always an important part of her Christmas celebrations.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Frank Brosius officiating. Interment, Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to Ebensburg First Christian Church (Disciples) or Lee Regional Hospice.
