Mrs. Ruth Krider Bolton, age 95, of Salisbury, NC passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Lutheran Home of Salisbury. Born January 23, 1916 in Salisbury, NC she was the daughter of the late Hallie Julian Krider and James Hodge Krider. Mrs. Bolton graduated from Catawba College, class of 1937, with a bachelor's degree in music. She taught music for one year. She was the organist for New Hope Methodist Church in Winston-Salem for 16 years. Locally, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bolton is preceded in death by her husband, Neil Bolton whom she married June 11, 1938. After marriage, they moved to Charlestown, West Virginia. During WWII she lived in Washington, D.C. during Mr. Bolton's service in the U.S. Navy; and later moved to Salisbury. Following the War she lived in Wilmington, NC for 5 years then moved to Winston-Salem where she lived until coming to Trinity Oaks in Salisbury in 1998. She is survived by her sons, James Morris Bolton of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Christina Bolton Carter and husband Bill of Salisbury; brother, Julian Krider of Salisbury; grandchildren, Neil, Kimberly, Allison, Christopher, and Lisa Carter; and great-grandson, Christopher Ethan Carter.
