Rev. Msgr Donald L. Armbrewster, son of Lawrence and Mildred Murphy Armbruster, was the pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Hamburg, New York from 1979 until his death at the age of 63.

He attended the Diocesan Preparatory Seminary, Buffalo, and Our Lady of the Angels Seminary, Niagara University and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Buffalo, New York, on May 5, 1954.

Fr. Armbrewster's other assignments included assistant pastor at Blessed Trinity, Buffalo; instructor at University of Notre Dame in Indiana; assistant pastor of St. Mary of the Lake, Hamburg; pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Niagara Falls.

He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, chaplain of the Catholic War Veterans; the Catholic Daughters of America; and the Lake Shore volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

Prior to entering the priesthood Fr. Armbrewster served as a master sergeant in WWII, serving in the Philippines.
