Ms. Alexe A. Flyum of Homer, Alaksa, died 07/10/2011 at her home in Homer. She was 33 years and 5 days old. She was the d/o Alex "Willie" and Karen Flyum.
She graduated from Unalaska City School in 1997, and received her post secondary education in criminal justice from Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno and University of Alaska, Anchorage. Alexe returned to Homer in 2000, and worked at various businesses in the community. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her hobbies included softball, fishing and a good nap. She recently became engaged to Frank Jay Watson and was looking forward to a summer wedding next year.

Alexe was known for having a kind heart, generous nature and being a hard worker. Although she lived with challenges, she was well loved by both her family and friends.

She is survived by her fianc, Frank Watson of Homer; parents, Willie and Karen of Homer; brothers Darry Flyum and Torlend Flyum of Homer; sisters Rama Flyum and Charlene Flyum of Homer; and her beloved cat, Baxter.

A celebration of life will be held at the Kachemak City Community Center, 59906 Bear Creek Drive, at 2 p.m. July 16, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in memory of Alexe to the Homer Animal Friends, P.O. Box 2300, Homer, AK 99603.

Alexe's ashes will be spread in Dutch Harbor, atop Mount Ballyhoo as she wished.
