Marcine King Huntley, 68, was promoted to her Haven of Rest early Wednesday morning, September 21, 2011 at the Sunnybrook Assisted Living Facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie E. and Deborah S. King and sister, Mildred K. Griffith.

A graduate of East Henderson High School, she was formerly employed in the office of General Electric Company and retired from Dana Elementary School, where she had also worked in the office.

She served in her community and Refuge Baptist Church of Dana, as long as her health permitted. She was loved and respected by her family and all who knew her, especially the staff and young children at Dana School. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her son, Brooks L. Huntley and wife, Michelle; granddaughters, Scarlet and Morgan; daughter, Melia H. Clontz and husband, Timothy; grandson, Chase Clontz; friend, Bob Clontz; brothers, Clarence M. King and wife, Mary and Horace J. King and wife, Mary; sisters,Addie K. Cox and husband, Howard and Yvonne K. Burrell and husband, Charles C.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home at 2 PM Friday, September 23, 2011. The Reverend David MacEachern will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Catie Rees and her staff at Sunnybrook Assisted Living, Dr. Ronald Moffitt, and Dr. William Medina for the love and care they provided to Marcine.

Memorials may be made in Marcine's honor to a charity of the donors' choice.

Burial will follow at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
