BOONVILLE - Mr. Hildon Gray Benton, 71, of Sizemore Avenue, Boonville, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Nov. 10, 1933, in Yadkin County to the late Rovy and Janie Swaim Benton. Mr. Benton was a member of Swaim's Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, his five brothers, Travis Benton, Earl Benton, Thad Benton, Garvin Benton and Reford Benton, all preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Sharon Benton of the home; seven sisters, Bernice Mendenhall, Dorothy Kimmer, Arlene Hutchins, Evelyn Bruce, Ivy Boyer, Phyllis Faw and Linda Zachary; a brother, James Benton; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Swaim's Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Hale and the Rev. Everette Carter officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of Swaim's Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the family.
